Self esteem is your opinion about yourself, it can be low or high. Everyone sometimes have doubt about themselves though low self esteem can leave you feeling unmotivated. Either way if you are thinking along the same lines these tips will help you build up your self esteem –
1. Be nice to yourself
That little voice inside you that tells you to keep going is very powerful for your self esteem. Make sure to make an effort to be nice to yourself. Speak to yourself in the same manner you would speak to your friend, encouragingly.
2. Get moving
Exercise is a great way to increase motivation, practise setting goals and build confidence. Breaking a sweat also cues the body to release endorphins, the feel-good hormones.
3. Nobody’s perfect
Remember that nobody’s perfect. You would make mistakes and then you would learn from them. Always try to be a good version of yourself but if sometimes you fail, dont be too hard on yourself.
4. You do you
Comparing yourself to others is a really bad example because everyone is unique in their own way. Instead try to focus on your own goals, your achievement.
5. Focus on what you can change
Always focus on what you can change, there is no use in dwelling on the past mistakes. Try to focus your time and energy into identifying the things that are still within your control and that can be changed.
6. Do what makes you happy
If you spend time doing the things you enjoy, you’re more likely to think positively. Try to schedule in a little you-time every day. Whether that’s time spent reading, cooking or just conking out on the couch for a bit, if it makes you happy, make time for it.
7. Start lifting yourself up!
Leave love notes to yourself around your home, office, car or any other space that you spend a lot of time in.
For example, I am beautiful, I am confident, I am successful, I am worthy! (Because you are). Before long, these affirmations will not feel foreign to you – and you will start to feel it and believe it!
