We are living in very difficult times. But recently people have again started traveling and that too in huge numbers. We have seen so many images where people are not following Covid-19 rules and behaving very recklessly. It is very important to follow rules for your ones own safety. We have listed few very important points for safe traveling during this Covid-19.
Plan your trip after a thorough Research
Before planning your trip to any destination, make sure to examine the health warnings. Stay informed by reading the travel advisories and notifications. Make a comprehensive investigation of where to go and where not to go. Many airlines, trains and cruise lines have cancelled or rerouted services to other airports, stations and cruise ports. As a result, thorough research has become super important before embarking on a journey.
Pack Intelligently
Mask and Sanitizers are a must. Also pack surgical gloves, face wipes and tissue papers. Travel documents and Health Insurance (if you have one). Have a good Medical kit with extra dosages of Paracetamol.
Maintain Social Distancing
When people come into contact with an infected person’s saliva or mucous, they contract respiratory illnesses. To begin, wear a mask while traveling and be wary of the surfaces you touch. Because droplets from coughing and sneezing reach neighboring surfaces, they can spread to other passengers.
If you are sitting next to someone who is sneezing or coughing, avoid touching any surfaces in the area. And change your seat immediately. Also, wash your hands for at least 20 seconds before touching your face, and don’t touch your face with dirty hands.Always bring an alcohol-based sanitizer and disinfection wipes with you when traveling.
Stay Alert
It’s impossible to resist a sip of water every now and then during the drive. If you’re going to be around Covid, it’s best to bring your own bottle to avoid coming into touch with other people, which is a possibility at the point of sale. While there isn’t much you can do on the plane to keep your distance, make sure you keep your distance in the terminal. While you’re waiting for your trip, take a walk around the airport because the seating area could be a source of illness. Cleaning and disinfecting surfaces such as the tray table and in-flight entertainment devices that you will be utilizing during the flight is also recommended.
Similarly, when using washrooms at airports and on flights, care should be taken, including using elbows to open the doors. It’s best to avoid overcrowding in public restrooms.
Mode of Travel
Experts consider driving to be the safest mode of transportation for someone who hasn’t been vaccinated, especially if the destination can be reached in a day, because it significantly reduces encounters with other people.
Flying is also a generally safe mode of transportation. Airlines are still requiring all passengers to wear masks onboard. If you haven’t been vaccinated, make every effort to stay in your seat as much as possible during the trip, and keep your mask on almost the whole time, especially if other passengers in your vicinity remove theirs to eat or drink.
Traveling by bus may necessitate extra caution for non-vaccinated passengers, as the ventilation systems (an crucial method for removing microorganisms from the air) may not be as effective as those on planes.
People who have been vaccinated should feel comfortable using any means of transportation. But they should also take full precautions as new variants of the virus are being detected every day.
Sanitize
You need to be extra cautious when you are in a war against a contagious disease. And for that, sanitize any and every object that might have been touched by someone else, example, your plane seat must be sanitized using antibacterial wipes with alcohol. Clean every corner of your area such as armrests, seat belt handle, tray table, call button, air vents and if possible, seat’s headrests. These are the most touched areas and disinfecting them is an effective way to wipe off the germs. You must also apply the same practice while traveling on train or bus.
Minimize Human Contact
Human contact should be minimized as much as possible. Handshakes and hugs are a complete NO. Try to rely on technology and automation as much as possible. Obtain your boarding card from the machine and then wash your hands. When it comes to food and retail shops within the airport, avoid touching common surfaces, keep a six-foot distance from employees, and use contact-less payment alternatives whenever possible.
Do Not Travel if you are Sick or having Symptoms
This is the most crucial element to remember. Most of the time, we focus on how to protect ourselves from the sickness, but we don’t consider how to prevent it from spreading. It is super important for everyone to stay indoors and isolated if you are Covid-19 positive. Even if you are having symptoms like mild fever, then it is important to get tested. Traveling in such cases is complete NO. If this illness is ever to be contained, it is critical to consider everyone.
