With increased temperature in Summer, comes great humidity and sweat. It can lead to an increase in oil production in skin. An oily skin can be caused by hormones, genetics, diet, certain disorders and even medications. Since oil is a natural component of the skin, however, the goal is to find a regimen that balances oil, not one that eliminates it entirely.
1. Cleanse Properly
Cleansing your face can be the perfect solution of getting of that oily skin. Use a gentle oil cleanser on your skin so you dont get any breakout.
2. Remember To Wear Sunscreen
While slathering on sunscreen may seem like a recipe for disaster for an oily complexion, a healthy dose of sunblock (a teaspoon for your face), surprisingly, helps control oil and shine. Sun damage from UV rays causes photoaging of the skin, which is characterized by a thick, leathery look; discoloration; and a breakdown of collagen, which contributes to lines, sagging and wrinkles
3. Avoid Cocktails And Spicy Foods
Spicy foods can cause havoc on your skin causing you to feel warmer and perspire more. While sweat isn’t inherently a bad thing, it can lead to clogged pores if it settles for too long on your skin’s surface.
4. Go Makeup Free
Go for makeup free look or atleast dont use foundation in the heat. Melting makeup can clog your pores and cause your skin to produce even more oil.
5. Don’t Forget To Exfoliate
Exfoliating is an important part of any skin care routine, especially if your skin is oily. Regular exfoliation helps to get rid of dead skin cells that have accumulated on your skin’s surface, clogging your pores and dulling your complexion.
6. Use moisturizer
Adding moisture to greasy skin may seem like a bad idea, but keeping skin hydrated is key to maintaining its balance and keeping oil production under control.
