Most of you will agree that getting rid of all that makeup at the end of a day is exhausting. Having said that, you’ll be surprised to know the wonders that your makeup remover can do. Yes, you read that right! Your makeup remover can save you from a number of skin concerns, such as premature ageing, breakouts and irritation.
Why you should remove your makeup?
All you lazy girls out there; the biggest mistake you’re probably making is sleeping with makeup on. Your makeup can wreak havoc on your skin overnight, making you regret the next morning. To save your skin the trouble, it is ideal that you have a solid night-time skin care regimen that’ll improve the health of your skin and help it glow all day, every day.
Cleanses the surface of your skin
Did you know? The skin on your face is exposed to the UV rays, grime, pollution and makeup on a daily basis. Precisely why, you need to cleanse your face thoroughly before sleeping. The first step towards cleansing is removing makeup. Your makeup remover will help you get rid of impurities and dirt that is resting on the surface of your skin. Ignoring this step can lead to skin irritation or cause your skin to age more rapidly.
Bye bye, blemishes
Removing makeup religiously every night before going to bed reduces the risk of developing pimples, redness, blackheads and other types of blemishes that can bring your skin game down. For supply and well-moisturised skin, it is important to include a makeup remover in your night-time beauty routine.
Allows your skin to breathe
With the number of products we apply on our skin every single day, it is only ideal to allow your skin to breathe in the night. From eliminating dead skin to stimulating skin’s microcirculation; your skin deserves all the love and attention. It is a great idea to pick a makeup remover that cleanses your skin too.
For all those who’ve been doing it wrong all this while, here’s a step-by-step guide to remove makeup:
Step 1. Eye Makeup
Directions: Start with holding the cotton pad on your eyes then gently moving to the root of the lashes and following to the ends of your lashes. I’ve watched many clients and friends remove their makeup and it urges me how people can tug and be so aggressive around their eye area. This skin is very thin and you need to be light handed while removing your eye makeup, never rub your eyes!!
Step 2. Cleanser #1 – Oil Cleanser
Directions: Using your fingers apply 2 full pumps of cleansing oil to your skin and start massaging it in a circular motion covering all areas including the eyes. After about a minute add water and start massaging in and rinse off. This will remove all eye makeup without irritating the delicate skin we have around our eyes.
Step 3. Cleanse #2 – Foaming Cleanser
Directions: Dampen your face with lukewarm water and start massaging in a nickel size amount all over your face avoiding the eye area. After about 40 to 60 seconds start to massage in and then fully rinse off with lukewarm water.
Step 4. Tone
The skin is now all ready for your favourite alcohol free toner! This will balance the PH of your skin and tighten up the pores.
Step 5. Moisturize
The last and final step is to apply a moisturizer to hydrate your skin. It locks the moisture within, to give you soft and supple skin.
Use these procedures to remove your makeup at night and make your skin more rejuvenating. Never, EVER sleep with makeup on, it can give you breakouts and it can damage your skin very badly!
