Una is a cultural and religious centre, long concealed in the lush green Himachal Pradesh hills. Una is Himachal Pradesh’s major area and there are countless in it. It is known for a holy shrine devoted to Chintpurni the Hindu Goddess. The temple, dedicated to the supreme Goddess Shakti, is one of the most important Shakti Peethas. The temple’s main deity, Goddess Chintpurni, is installed inside the temple as a stone statue, also known as Pindi. Thrice a year, Chintpurni Fair is organized in Chintpurni Village, also known as’ Mata da Mela.’
Places to visit:
Chintpurni– Chintpurni is dedicated to Chinnamastika Devi temple, or Chinamasta Devi shrine. It’s based on one of the Sola Singhi Range’s highest peaks. In this temple the goddess is seen in a pindi (round stone) shape without her head.
Baba Bharbhag Singh: Dera is essentially a sacred place that is believed to be the place to heal the patients plagued by evil spirits. This Gurudwara was established by the famous Himachal Pradesh saint Bharbhag Singh. This Dera is situated 40 Kms away from Una City. For Dera there are direct buses from nearly every part of the country. The largest station to hit Dera is Chandigarh. At the peak of a hill surrounded by eucalyptus trees, the best aspect of the Gurudwara is this.
Bangana Lathian Piplu: Located on the Sola Singh Dhar peak famous for breathtaking sceneries. In the winter season, this place is impressive and some major religious celebrations are held at such a time. Don’t forget to visit Piplu at Jogi Ponga and Naina Devi Temple.
Una Town: This spot is more spectacular than other locations in the area, since Una Town is the name of the spot. You will get an opportunity to explore one of India’s magnificent rivers known as the Swan River. This river is tributary to the holy Sutlej river. Local people believe the river was called by the famous saint Valmiki as Som Bhadra and also described in his myth book Ramayana. He referred to the River as Swastu Una.
Gobind Sagar Lake: It is an example of real Himalayan elegance. If you really like boating at various locations or hill stations and if you are on the list, then you will enjoy boating at Gobind Sagar Lake Una. There are also several other lakes at Una however, but Gobind Sagar Lake is different then everything. While there are several other locations, this is the artificial lake, areas accessible nearer to this location. The lake area is popular for fishing, as well as for activities such as speed boats and ferry trips. Water skiing, kayaking, sailing, and lake scooter racing are just a few more exciting sporting activities available at this venue.

Una Wild Life Sanctuaries: Most parts of the hills are covered in greenery and thick woodland. There is a sanctuary constructed in the outer area of Bhakra Dam, operated by the Bhakra Management Board.
Thaneek Pura: Thaneek Pura is a small hill station offering its tourists a pristine hilly beauty of landscapes that excites both painters and photographers alike. Thaneek Pura is a hill station village that is surrounded in the north by the western Himalayan Mountains and in the east by the smaller Shiwalik Mountains. It is renowned for its scenic beauty and temples like Guga Zahar Veer Temple, Mahiya Sidh Temple, Radha-Krishna Temple. Other Thaneek Pura temples include the Baba Balak Nath Temple which is a must-visit site.
Dhyunsar Mahadev Temple: Dhyunsar Mahadev Temple is a famous Hindu Temple that is commonly referred to as Sada Shiv Mandir / Shiv Tilla by tourists coming from all over the world
Shiva Bari: Perched on Hoshiarpur-Dharamsala road, Shiv Bari sits on the bank of the Swan River and this site is considered a practice area for Guru Dronacharya archery pupils.
Sheetla Devi Temple: Dedicated to Durga the Goddess. It is situated in Bharwain, near the Chintpurni Devi Temple. A large number of devotees are thronging this holy place to take Goddess Sheetla Devi’s blessings and pray for their prosperity and living success.
